Du'a Set

The du'as of a day as a set of tiles: waking, the door, the table, the bathroom, the car, sleep - or the shop's, or the classroom's. Ten tiles stacked in a tray on the desk, the one you need on top; or each on its own keyhole on the wall, or magnets for the whiteboard and the fridge. Each tile carries the moment, the Arabic shaped properly, the transliteration and the meaning. Flat black, the words set in flush in a second color.

Under the meaning: the family, the school, the business. Up to 16 letters.

How it's made. Each tile is a flat 125 x 85 mm plate, 4.5 mm thick, made face-down so the face comes off the bed glass-smooth. The Arabic is shaped by the same engine typesetters use, from the Amiri (Naskh) and Noto Kufi faces, every vowel mark in place; it and the title, transliteration and meaning are set 1 mm into the face in a second color, flush with the black. Engraved cuts the same into a one-color plate instead. A set comes with a tray the ten stack in; or every tile takes two keyholes for screws, or pockets for 10 x 2 mm magnets. One tile slots into its own stand. PLA, no supports. A person checks every piece before it is made.
